0.66% by weight solution:mix 3.33grams SM gum into 500mls DI water for 5 minutes in a Waring blender at 4000rpms.Measure pH and viscosity at 21ºC using a Fann Viscometer equipped with a #1 torsion spring.Then condition for 20minutes at 85ºC in atmospheric cement consistometer. Take 85ºC fann readings in a preheated fann cup.
