Welan gum in dry mix mortar is a long chain naturally occurring polymer with excellent thermally resistance capability which is used to increase yields of water-based drilling mud. Welan gum can be stable up to 300°F (150°C) in water-based drilling, workover and completion fluids systems due to unique features for Lower Shear Rate Viscosity ( LSRV ) of drilling fluids and divalent ion tolerance. Welan gum has a slightly higher acid solubility than xanthan gum polymer.
