Welan gum is a biopolysaccharide via Alcaligenes fermentation using starch oother carbohydrates by the method of biological engineering. It is a tetrasaccharide repeating unit consisting of D-glucose, D-glucuronic acid, L-rhamnose, and L-mannose.
WELAN GUM is thermally resistant biopolymer for viscosity for viscosity and suspension control in industrial applications, it is stable up to 300ºF(150ºC)in water-based drilling, workover and completion fluids, with unique features for Lower Shear Rate Viscosity (LSRV) of drilling fluids and divalent ion tolerance
